Cheyenne Gentle, Gasoline and Energy (CLFP) will ship the venture’s energy to Meta beneath Wyoming’s Massive Energy Contract Service (LPCS) tariff. The tariff is for large-load prospects, letting the utility present market and renewable power choices to knowledge facilities with out affect on retail charges.

“We’re dedicated to supporting initiatives that add new power to the grid whereas strengthening reliability in our knowledge heart communities,” stated Amanda Yang, head of unpolluted and renewable power, Meta. “In partnership with Enbridge and Cheyenne Gentle, Gasoline and Energy, the Cowboy Challenge’s 1600-MWh battery system paired with 365 MW of photo voltaic, will ship versatile, dependable energy that advantages the broader grid, together with our knowledge heart operations.”

The BESS capability is contracted beneath a long-term, battery tolling settlement with CLFP beneath the identical LPCS tariff. Tesla will provide and repair the batteries.

The primary section of the Cowboy Challenge is part of Enbridge’s broader energy portfolio supporting Meta, together with Clear Fork Photo voltaic (600 MW), Easter Wind (152 MW) and Cone Wind (300 MW), that are all positioned in Texas. Enbridge expects to take a position $1.2 billion to assemble this venture, which is anticipated to enter service by the tip of 2027.

Meta has been procuring renewable power from a sequence of beneath growth photo voltaic and power storage initiatives, attempting to fulfill power calls for from new knowledge facilities. Earlier this month, Meta signed a power purchase agreement with EDP Renewables on the 250-MW Cypress Knee Photo voltaic venture in Arkansas.
