
South Carolina-based photo voltaic panel assembler Hounen Photo voltaic introduced it’ll open a second manufacturing location within the state. Becoming a member of the corporate’s existing 1-GW plant in Orangeburg, Hounen will set up a 3-GW facility in Summerville by the top of 2026.
Hounen has been making silicon photo voltaic panels in Orangeburg since 2024. The positioning in Summerville was beforehand occupied by a house furnishings producer, so Hounen will simply want to herald panel meeting tools.
“The ability will incorporate superior automation and clever manufacturing programs to make sure the manufacturing of high-efficiency photo voltaic modules that meet the requirements of the U.S. market,” Hounen acknowledged on its web site. “This strategic funding underscores Hounen’s long-term dedication to U.S. home manufacturing, technological innovation, and provide chain resilience, contributing to the nation’s transition towards a sustainable and safe clear vitality future.”
