
EDP Renewables North America is celebrating the inauguration of its 200-MW Scarlet II Photo voltaic Power Park in Fresno County, California. Scarlet II follows EDPR NA’s Scarlet I Solar Energy Park, consisting of 200 MW of photo voltaic and a 40-MW/160-MWh battery vitality storage system (BESS), which achieved industrial operation in 2024. This second part of the Scarlet Photo voltaic Power Park features a co-located 150-MW/600-MWh BESS, growing the challenge’s resilience.
The complete output of the 200 MW of photo voltaic vitality is contracted by a 15-year digital energy buy settlement (VPPA), with useful resource adequacy related to the 150 MW BESS contracted beneath long-term Useful resource Adequacy (RA) agreements with Ava Neighborhood Power and San José Clear Power.
