In an executive order on Wednesday, April 2, President Trump introduced new reciprocal tariffs on all buying and selling companions “to rebalance world commerce flows” beginning April 5.
The order provides 10% tariffs to all buying and selling companions, with higher rates for certain countries. Based on law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, the tariffs won’t apply to imports from Canada or Mexico so long as 25% tariffs stay in place in opposition to these nations.
A few of the highest reciprocal tariff charges goal Southeast Asian nations with already excessive antidumping/countervailing duties on photo voltaic cell and panels — Cambodia (49%), Malaysia (24%), Thailand (37%) and Vietnam (46%). These nations, together with South Korea (tariffed at 26%), are chargeable for the overwhelming majority of U.S. c-Si photo voltaic cell imports.
Though remaining determinations on the photo voltaic AD/CVD case haven’t but been launched, the preliminary amounts are out.
